For residents from countries where English is not the first language, or where the country’s population is largely multi-lingual (such as India), one of the following tests may be required:
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
There are two types of IELTS tests:

• Academic Training.
• General Training.

The IELTS evaluates your abilities in the following 4 modules:

• Listening
• Reading
• Writing
• Speaking

The subject matter of the reading and writing sections differ depending on which test you take whereas the listening and speaking sections are the same for both tests. For students who require assistance, we will share our more detailed Test Tip Sheet and explain what to expect in each module.

Similarly, the higher-standard TOEFL measures the ability of non-native English speakers to use and understand English as it is read, written, heard, and spoken in the university classroom. This test is designed to help students succeed and express themselves with more confidence.

While most students who have studied in the English medium will not need any preparation classes for the test, we will assist those students who require support to ensure the minimum grade requirements are met.
